Option 2: review & analyze at least one trailer for this film, the official social media page for the film, and at least 1 movie poster for the film. 

Option 3: review & analyze an original documentary TV program, their official social media page, and a magazine article written about the documentary.

Option 4: review & analyze a short film, their official social media page, and a postcard advertisement for the film.

Trailer Analysis

For this assignment, I will be reviewing and analyzing the trailer the Barbie Movie

This trailer will assist me in completing my portfolio components because it shows me the key components of a film trailer. The trailer begins with scenes that invoke nostalgia and light-hearted humor to show the world the perfect reality that Barbie resides in, but as the trailer progresses, bits of the conflict is introduced and so the rest of the trailer shows bits of scenes that are a part of Barbie's adventure. The music tends to assist with the mood of the trailer because at first it is nostalgic and happy, but towards the end of the trailer, the music is quieter in tempo but still grand which is a key feature of a trailer in order to have its audience anticipate the movie and watch it in theaters.

Social Media Page Analysis

The social media page for this movie is essential for marketing. Since Instagram is popular among teens and young adults, the Instagram account for the Barbie movie will be used. The Barbie Movie was also known for its grand marketing budget, so there have been many events that anticipated its arrival in theaters with its release last summer. 2 of the most popular music artists also features in songs of their own which have become great hits and are effectively also marketed in the Barbie Movie social media page. 

Movie Poster Analysis

The movie poster gives a major hint about the plot for the movie. The singular quote gives viewers an epiphany after they have watched the movie. Movie posters tend to capture the main visual aspect and aesthetic of the film as well as credit the two main characters. The poster contains logos of companies that own much of the rights to the very existence of Barbie and the movie production which are Mattel, Dolby Cinema, and Warner Bros.
